Human Design: The Body Graph

Information:

Human Design, created by Ra Uru Hu, combines 3 major concepts: an individual’s astrological Natal Chart, E-ching Astrology (Chinese Philosophy), and the Kabbalah (Judaism Philosophy). These three concepts create the Body Graph. The Body Graph shows the individual what personality traits, behaviors, and karmic lessons, consciously and unconsciously, they agreed to experience in this lifetime. In Hinduism and Buddhism there are typically 7 energy points in the human body called “chakras”, which means “wheel”. The Body Graph identifies that the original 7 chakras were our “survival mode” and Ra Ura Hu declared around 1718 our body went through an “upgrade” and our now current human body has 9 chakras. The current chakras are Head Center (crown), Ajna Center (third eye), Throat Center, Identify Center (self-love), Heart Center (ego), Solar Plexus Center (emotions), Spleen Center, Sacral Center, and Root Center. He then theorized that in 2027 the chakras in the human Body Graph will be getting an “upgrade”, and the Solar Plexus will be splitting into two chakras, which will give our “new human Body Graph” 10 charkas centers.

Chakra centers can be either defined, which are shown in a color, or open, which are left white. When a chakra is defined it means the chakra energy is “consistent and reliable” for that individual in their everyday life. When a chakra is open, it means the individual takes energy into that chakra center from worldly experiences and expands it. Open chakras leave individuals “open” to energies that may come along through other people, places, and things that they interact with. The 9 chakras are connected to various personalities and behavioral traits, which are represented through lines in the Body Graph called “gates”. Gates too can either be open or defined. Defined Gates are shown in black and red, and open gates are shown in white. Black gates are planetary alignments/personality traits that we consciously/physically are aware of in our present body. The conscious lines are considered the “right side” of the body. Black gates are lessons and traits of our personality we may easily identify with, and others may easily recognize within us. Red gates are the “left side of the body”, also known as our spiritual divine energy. Red lines are lessons and traits our body is unconsciously aware of that our spirit agreed to experience before it entered the body. This theory in Human Design speculates that the soul doesn’t enter the body until 6 months gestation, or “88 days before we are born”. Gates can also have both red and black lines meaning these gates have both conscious and unconscious lessons the individual agreed to learn and experience.

Everyone has various chakras and gates that are both defined and open in the body, and when defined gates connect in defined chakras, they create what are called “channels”. Channels show how energy flows from chakra to chakra and emphasize specific lessons that the individual is learning to work through and “master”. The individual’s specific time, date, and place of birth determines what Body Graph profile type and profile line the individual becomes in this lifetime. Human Design identifies four major Profile Types: Generators, Manifestors, Projectors, and Reflectors. There are also Manifesting Generators who can either be Generators with manifesting traits or Manifestors with generating traits. It all depends on gates 20-34 connecting into a channel. If an individual has these two gates connecting into a channel, then they are what is called a “true” Manifesting Generator, which means whatever they decide to create, Sacral Center, rises to up and they communicate, Throat Center, into the physical world. There are also six Profile Lines, and everyone has a conscious line, and an unconscious line. The Profile Line in the Body Graph represents the Sun, which is our purpose, life force, and personality. The six Profile Lines are Investigator, Hermit, Martyr, Opportunist, Heretic, and Role Model. A detailed graphic organizer of all Profile Types and Profile Lines is listed below.

Based on my personal studies of Chinese Religion, which is an aspect of the Human Design, I have learned that the right side of the body represents the divine masculine energy of the soul known as Yang energy. The masculine right side of the body is considered the “conscious physical world”. The left side represents the divine feminine energy of the soul known as Yin energy. The divine feminine represents the “unconscious spiritual world”. The two together, Yin and Yang, align the physical and spiritual world within the body. While we are in the body on Earth, I believe we are learning to balance our energies to have both the physical and spiritual world work together. The Yin and Yang concept is shown in the Life Path section, of the Human Design; I have attached a graphic organizer shown below that depicts what the Left and Right Life Paths are experiencing. Those that are born into a Right Path are learning to be more in their spiritual body, and those that are born into the Left Path are learning to be more in their physical human body.
